Baby Expert Spotlight: Katie Rain, Newborn Photographer

My first baby expert is Katie Rain. She is an extraordinary newborn, child, and family photographer. Katie is based in Northern California, but also makes trips out to NYC and LA for shoots (and is willing to travel to other cities). Not only are her photos stunning, her personality is PURE SPARKLE. I know this because she took MY photos for this website, and I don't exactly love having my picture taken. I told her I would feel successful if I was easier to work with than the toddlers she photographs! Luckily, she said I was, but maybe she was just being kind...

The other thing I love about Katie is that she gives lots of tips on her IG account about taking pictures of babies and kids, and also documents her challenges of being a working mom. Did I mention she's a badass business woman, too? Her posts are funny, authentic and always brighten my day. The way she uses light in her pictures is pure artistry and the images are truly breathtaking. She even generously let me use some of her newborn pictures and the pregnant belly shot from her past sessions for my website.
